To accomplish its mission, ISHRIGHTS delivers its Human Rights Class in a Box program in educational institutions in South Florida and abroad to increase students’ knowledge, appreciation, and commitment to human rights education and advocacy. Over the past 5 years, ISHRIGHTS has provided approximately 10,000 students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools with in-class presentations focusing on Human Rights Education at the elementary, middle and senior high school levels. The organization is governed by a five-member Board of Directors and eight Board Advisers. The Board of Directors provides oversight responsibility for the activities of the organization. At the same time, ISHRIGHTS has distributed over 15,000 copies of a booklet created by the organization: a 52-page, full-color, illustrated, bilingual (English-Spanish) Pocket Guide to Human Rights, designed for students and teachers alike. This comprehensive guide contains the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in an illustrated short version, alongside the complete text of the declaration.
