International Solidarity for Human Rights (ISHRIGHTS) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization established December 16, 2008, and is located in 20200 W Dixie Hwy ST 902, Miami, FL 33180. ISHRIGHTS mission is to promote education, understanding and respect for human rights as embodied in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The Foundation

To accomplish its mission, ISHRIGHTS imparts its program Human Rights Class in a Box in educational Institutions in South Miami and abroad, to increase students’ knowledge appreciation and commitment to human rights education and advocacy. Over the past 5 years, ISHRIGHTS have provided approximately 10.000 students at the Miami Dade County Schools with in-class presentations focusing on Human Rights Education at the elementary, middle and senior high school levels. The Organization is governed by 5 members Board Directors, and 7 Board Advisers. The Board of Directors provides oversight responsibility for the activities of the organization. At the same time, ISHRIGHTS has distributed over 15,000 copies of a booklet created by the organization: a 52-page, full-color, illustrated, bilingual (English-Spanish) Pocket Guide to Human Rights, designed for students and teachers alike. This comprehensive guide contains the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in an illustrated short version, alongside the complete text of the declaration.
